Located on Gallipoli Peninsula, on Hisarlık Hill next to Morto Bay at the tip of Dardanelles, Monument of Martyrs has come into service on 21st of August, 1960.
The monument was built in commemoration of 253.000 Turkish soldiers who lost their lives during Dardanelles Battle and its height is 41,7 meters and its width is 7,5 meters. Turkish Flag, which is made of mosaic, on the inner surface of the roof attracts great attention. There is a huge relief in the front side of the monument and there are also some symbolic graves.
